19 of Medvedev's 21 victories have been won on hard courts
A resurgent Medvedev claimed his first title for over two years with victory over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
The Russian, a ex- world number one, has endured a challenging period, achieving just one win at the big events and suffering a setback at the New York tournament.
The player's inconsistency on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his serving in particular - caused him exiting of the elite rankings and finally separating with long-time coach his previous coach.
Now training with his coach and Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently advanced in the last few weeks - peaking in a tightly fought three-set triumph over opponent Corentin Moutet.
This marks his maiden championship following the Italian tournament and first on a hardcourt from spring of that year.
Success also means Medvedev has won 21 victories at 21 distinct tournaments.
"For the first time I have attended a competition with my two daughters together, so to win a title is particularly special," commented tennis professional Medvedev.
"This title is in honour of my second daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I achieved when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."
Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his last six championship matches, featuring in Halle previously this season.
Medvedev's retrieving play style and recurring reactions on the tennis court had prompted commentators to doubt if his capacity to compete at the elite level was concluded.
However the player has altered his approach in the past month, attempting to come to the net and compete assertively, supported by an improved serving game.
He came back from a disadvantage in the opening set against the challenging opponent, winning four of the last five points to gain the advantage.
The pair swapped service breaks in the following set before Moutet, striving for his first tour victory, seized the initiative to force a decider.
Moutet saved 4 early-game chances in a close final set before Medvedev secured a break to that score to secure the win.
Suitably, the winner clinched the win with a rally at the net area, with Moutet incapable to control a shot after over two and a half hours.
